Neil Baker says you quickly get over the frustration of missing out on a target
Neil Baker has admitted that it can be frustrating to miss out on transfer targets for financial reasons, but the club’s assistant manager says that you have to quickly move on to line up others.
Baker was disappointed to lose out on striker Danny Hylton to newly promoted Rotherham and to Mansfield Town to the signature of winger Sam Clucas, but has moved quickly to sign Lincoln forward Vadaine Oliver and Macclesfield’s combative defender Thierry Audel.
Baker told the club’s official web-site: “I think we lost out on a couple of players due to financial reasons and that happens. You can be disappointed or frustrated at the time but you have to quickly move on.
“You soon have to get over things and move on to other opportunities. It is our job to improve the team and to improve the squad and we will continue to do that.
“We have lost out on two and good luck to them and have managed to get two in so far and we are delighted with them.”
