"We'll Do Our Business"

20 June 2013

Neil Baker aiming to improve squad as he steps up club search

Neil Baker has quickly shaken off the disappointment of missing out on winger Sam Clucas and forward Danny Hylton and is busy talking to targets and agent. The club’s assistant manager has been diligent behind the scenes and has told Crewe Alex Player that he remains confident that ‘business will be done’ this summer to add to the acquisition of forward Vadaine Oliver from Lincoln City.

Baker told Crewe Alex Player: “We’ll do our business. We have missed out on one or two but we have other targets in place. I have other conversations with players and agents and it has been busy since I returned from holiday.

“I’ve been on the phone talking and putting things into place. I have met a couple of players, made an offer to one and have others in place.

We think we have a decent team but we are always looking to make it better. We will keep working.” He added: “The aim is to bring better players into the club. That is what we are striving to do.
