Matt Tootle says Alex have a chance of another sucessful season if everyone stays fit
Matt Tootle jokingly suggests that he cannot promise Crewe Alexandra supporters yet another trip to Wembley this coming season, but the versatile defender says there is no reason why the Railwaymen cannot enjoy another successful campaign.
Tootle, 22, has already made those two Wembley appearances and has amassed 160 first team games since emerging through the club’s Academy ranks.
Tootle joked to crewealex.net: “After the last 12 months, the fans will be expecting another Wembley appearance!
“It has been a fantastic 12 months for everyone and there is no reason why we cannot push on and continue to be successful. We want to be successful and all we can do is play consistently well and see where that takes us.
“If we can find that consistency then I’m sure with the experience we have gained over the last 18 months that we will win more games than we will lose. We are a year older and should be pushing on.
“We lost four on the bounce after Wembley, so it shows that if we had collected a couple of wins in those then we were not too far off. We are a young team on paper but we are a young team with a lot of experience.
“If we can keep everyone fit then we have a good chance of having another good season.”
