Alex welcome Silkmen's Right Back

Crewe Alexandra’s second signing of the summer Thierry Audel says he cannot wait to test himself in the Football League. The Frenchman secured a move to the Alexandra Stadium after catching the eye for our Cheshire East neighbours Macclesfield Town last season. Having previously played in his native France for Auxere and in Italy for Pisa, the right-back is now determined to embrace the British game and improve as a player.

After signing a two-year deal with the Railwaymen, the 26-year-old defender told Crewe Alex Player: “I am really happy to have signed for Crewe. It is my first chance to play league football in England and experience a new culture.

“It is different. In France, the football is very technical. In Italy, it is tactical and in England, a lot more physical. I know I’ve come to a club where I can improve and learn from the coaches.

“I am a player who likes to give 100% for the team and I know Crewe play in the style I like. They play football and they develop good young players, who are technically good. I will look to adapt as soon as I possibly can and do my best for the club.

“Crewe finished 13th last season, and won a trophy and the aim will be finish higher in a tough league.”
