Former United youngster has fitted in well during early training sessions
Steve Davis says that the former Manchester United youngster Luke Giverin has every chance of landing himself a contract at Crewe Alexandra if he can show his obvious potential during the pre-season. Giverin will travel with the squad for our practice match with Glasgow Celtic this weekend.
Salford-born Giverin was released by the Old Trafford club this summer and spent a period on loan with Belgium club Royal Antwerp.
Davis has admitted that if Crewe were to sign the full-back/midfielder we could face competition from top flight clubs in Holland.
Steve has told the club’s official web-site: “Luke has been fine so far. You can see he is a talented player and he could yet save us some money.
“He is a similar type of player to Ashley Westwood. He is neat and tidy and has a good left foot. We have watched him play for Royal Antwerp on DVD and has been good in training. He is still young and has attracted interest from Dutch clubs.
“He will have a chance to show what potential he has at Celtic and hopefully he will stay with us and we can have a good look at him.”
