Duggy: Great Test Ahead

Adam Dugdale looking forward to interesting new season in League One

Adam Dugdale is looking forward to the announcement of the new League One fixtures tomorrow morning and admits that the competitiveness in our division has only increased with the likes of Bristol City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and our local rivals Port Vale entering this year.

Dugdale stresses that Crewe are good enough to compete again and says that a year of experience at this level will put us in good stead for an exciting new season.

Duggy told crewealex.net: “When you look at the clubs in this league you can see how strong it is. There are some big clubs in this league now and you have to earn every point. It is tough but we proved last season that we can find our feet and compete.

“I think that is has become tougher at our level with Wolves and Bristol City being relegated and the likes of Bradford and Port Vale coming up. There are going to be some great encounters and that is what we wanted to play at this level for.

“It is an interesting league, especially with the likes of Preston Coventry and Sheffield United looking to improve and do better. It is to our credit to see how well we did in our first year back.

“We are a year better off. Virtually everyone was new to League One including the manager, so that puts us in great stead. Saying that the teams will know more about us and what we are about.”

The new fixtures are out tomorrow at 9am on the official web-site. Don’t miss them…
