Aiming For A Play-Off Place

20 June 2013

Abdul Osman says aim has to be a possible play-off place

Abdul Osman says reaching Wembley and lifting the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in his first season at Crewe Alexandra has given him a taste for more success. Osman enjoyed a consistent first season, complimenting captain Luke Murphy in central midfield and after making 47 appearances his debut year, he rounded it off with his first piece of silverware.

Now Osman, 26, is focussed on trying to break into a play-off next season. The former Northampton man appreciates that it is going to be a tough task considering the teams that have come down from the Championship and gone up from League Two, but Osman believes we are equipped to mount a serious challenge.

Abdul told the club’s official web-site: “The aim for us has to be play-offs and possible promotion. I think we are good enough and if we can add to that then we could have another decent season.

“I enjoyed my first year at Crewe. It was a really good season for me and for the club and it was nice to win my first piece of silverware. Now we really have to try and push on from that success. I don’t think we are that far off.”
