Steve not ruling out move for creative Aneke
Steve Davis has not ruled out the possibility of trying to tempt Chuks Aneke back to Crewe Alexandra on loan.
The Arsenal youngster has recently been on his club’s tour of Asia and the Crewe boss admits that he has had dialogue with Aneke and his agent to make sure we are a possible destination again if the former England Youth International is available for loan.
Aneke, 20, showed real class whilst on loan last season, scoring 8 goals in 38 appearances, and providing numerous more assists into the bargain.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Chuks has been away in Asia with Arsenal but I have spoken to him and he knows I am monitoring his position there. We are keeping an eye on one or two more as well.
“The squad we have is big enough. I would like some of them to be more competitive and push the others on a bit. Over the course of the season I am sure there will be progress made with that.
He added: “Chuks grew on our supporters here. Thy probably didn’t see his quality straight away but it emerged over time. He is something different. He is creative and a goalscorer and we know what ability he possesses. We will have to see what happens.”
