Leading scorer back in the frame for double-header friendlies
The club’s leading goalscorer Mathias Pogba is expected to feature in either Friday’s trip to Leek United or Saturday’s local meeting with Nantwich Town. Pogba, who hit 16 goals last season, has not played since pulling his thigh muscle on Easter Monday against Preston North End.
The Guinean International, 22, underwent surgery in the summer in Italy and was given permission to continue his rehabilitation in his native France before returning for pre-season training at the beginning of the month.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Mathias is fine and ready. He is fit and training so we will look to ease him over the next two friendly games. That is either going to be at Leek or Nantwich or perhaps we might give him some game time in both.”
