Luke's untimely knee injury come at the wrong time
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he will need to see more of the on-trial Luke Giverin before he decides whether to offer the former Manchester United youngster a contract.
Giverin, 20, spent a period on loan at Royal Antwerp last season and is seeking a new club following his release from Old Trafford.
Giverin, who certainly impressed in the first half against Norton on Tuesday night with his range of passing is trying to return to the British game after his spell in Belgium. The combative midfield player is currently struggling with a knee injury and could be out for a couple of weeks.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “We want to see a see a bit more of Luke before we make a decision on him. He has come from United so we know he is technically very good.
“He has shown glimpses of his ability whilst he has been with us. He has a good range of passing and is similar to Ashley Westwood in that respect.
“He is perhaps a bit lightweight in his defending so we want to see a bit more in terms of that. When we face the likes of Manchester United and Aston Villa, I’m sure we will see what he is like without the ball and defensively, but he is doing fine.”
