Giverin After First-Team Football

Former Manchester United midfielder aiming to earn deal

The former Manchester United youngster Luke Giverin is hopeful of winning himself a contract at Crewe Alexandra for all the right reasons. Giverin was released by the Old Trafford club in the summer after spending much of last season on loan at one of their feeder clubs Royal Antwerp.

Giverin, who can play full-back as well as in midfield is determined to get his career back on track in the UK despite interest from the Belgian club and a couple of top flight sides in Holland. The neat footballer was also interesting Crystal Palace before their promotion into the FA Premier League via the play-off system.

The Salford-born Giverin is just hoping to get an opportunity to earn himself a deal at Crewe because he is now after first-team football on a more regular basis.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Luke is just after an opportunity and we will see how he does. He has shown that he is a talented footballer and he is still young.

“He is a Salford lad and just wants to play games. Fair play to him.

“He knows what this club is about and what we offer. He is a young player who feels he could improve here and play games. Now he just has to take that opportunity and is he can, then we would sit down and take it from there. “
