Fight On For Inman

Steve Davis hoping to be in contention

Steve Davis expects to face competition for the signature of Brad Inman. The 21-year-old could leave his parent club Newcastle United this summer in search of first-team football and the Alex manager is keen to enter the race if that scenario does materialise.

Davis is hoping that the success of his loan spell with us last season could sway the Scotland Under-21 International to eventually choose Crewe. Davis is keen to be kept in form of any developments in regards to his immediate future.

Davis told the club’s official web-site: “I am sure Brad will have others interested parties if he was to become available.

“It depends where he wants to go, is he going to get in the team?

“It's a decision he has to make. He knows what he is getting here so that's an advantage. He's still in limbo a bit but things might become clear soon.

“I am happy with the squad I have got. I have lots of options. I have brought experience in and I'm pleased. I think we are a stronger squad. There may be room for one more we'd be looking for a creative, goal-scoring type. The door's open for that.”
