Steve Davis says his players will all get a chance to impress

Steve Davis says he will continue to mix his teams up for the forthcoming friendly matches against Leek this evening and for the short trip to Nantwich Town tomorrow afternoon. Davis is providing each of his squad with game time and an opportunity to impress during the pre-season.

Ahead of this evening’s encounter at Leek, the Crewe boss said: “I will continue to mix it up over the next two games, so they all get some match fitness and a chance to play. It is all about them getting back into the football.

“We use these games to develop a style of play and try different things. I was pleased with the fluency of our forward play at Newcastle and want to see more of that.

The boss added: “We will continue to work hard and aim towards the start of the season. We have some great home pre-season matches to look forward to and the players all have a chance to show what they can do.”
