Audel Ready For Challenge

Thierry Audel enjoying life at Crewe

Thierry Audel is hoping that he has done enough to convince manager Steve Davis that is worth a start against Rotherham United on the opening day of the season. The club’s new Frenchman appreciates that he faces stiff competition from Kelvin Mellor for the right back spot and even more so from four other centre halves for a central role but the former Macclesfield man is determined to break into the manager’s first-team plans.

Thierry, who has made quite an impression in the club’s pre-season games’ told crewealex.net: “We have been training every day and working very hard. I like to train like this because it prepares you for the new season.

“The competition is very good here, there are a lot of good players but I will give my best and hopefully be able to show the best of my qualities.

“There is an exciting challenge ahead with many great games to look forward to. I want to show everyone what I am able to do.

“I am ready and you have to be ready. I have worked hard to get to this level and when an opportunity comes you have to be able to ready to take it.

Thierry added: “I don’t want where I play as long as I can play. I don’t mind playing either right back or centre-back. I like both and I am prepared to play any position.”
