Aj Leitch-Smith back in the mix by playing off the front
AJ Leitch-Smith completed 70 minutes of last night’s 2-1 win over Stafford Rangers and demonstrated his ability to play off the front. Leitch-Smith has only recently returned from a groin strain and will need to build on his run-out at Marston Road against Aston Villa on Friday if he is stake a place in Steve Davis’ starting line-up.
Neil Baker told crewealex.net: “AJ got close to 70 minutes last night and that will do him the world of good.
“He played off the front and he enjoys playing in that position. Playing him and Max (Clayton) up there is something we will consider. We started last season with those two up front and Pogs and Moore out wide but we changed it early on.
“They are 12 months older and perhaps they are the best pairing but we have a selection of strikers and the competition is good. Those who score goals will be in the side.
“We could play with an attacking four or three and there are places up for grabs.”
