Full-back focussed on acquiring three away points to keep us in touch
Matt Tootle has told the club’s official web-site that the dressing room wants to prove that they can bounce back from a set-back by getting a positive result at Leyton Orient this weekend. Tootle scored Crewe’s goal in the opening minute against the O’s earlier in the season, but Russell Slade’s impressive side hit back through midfielder Martin Rowlands and the game ended 1-1.
Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Brisbane Road, Toots told crewealex.net: “We have to show that we can bounce back again. We have shown that we can do that before and we are looking to do that again at Leyton Orient.
“We have proved that we can compete at this level and it is up to us to go to Leyton Orient this weekend and get a good result away from home. We are in the top half of the league and are three points shy of the play-off places, but we do really take it one game at a time and see where we are.
“Leyton Orient are a good side and they played against us earlier in the season. They have a lot of experience in their squad and some old heads, so it will be difficult but we have gone to some big clubs this season and shown what we can do.
He added: “We are looking forward to it and it would be nice to get on the score sheet again.”
