Steve: "A Test For Our Squad"

Davis says the next five weeks with really test his squad with fixtures to make up

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager, is hoping that the club get back to League action at Bournemouth this weekend after our home match with MK Dons was postponed due to the adverse weather conditions.

Davis says that our upcoming run will certainly test the resolve of his squad with as many as 15 fixtures between February and the beginning March, once you take into account the club’s Under-21 matches.

Steve was pleased that last night’s Cheshire Senior Cup tie against Northwich Victoria went ahead after ground staff and volunteering supporters helped clear snow from the pitch covers.

when you include the Under 21 matches.ndThe Alex boss told crewealex.net: “The games are mounting up. I think I counted we have 15 games from now until March 2

“That is a ridiculous amount in a short space of time and it will really test the squad. We have some tough games, with the rearranged games and JPT games slotted in, but it is exciting and we got into this league to be challenged every week.

“It is difficult to judge if a break helps or hinders you, but the good think is we have been able to train with the facilities we have. We have been able to work and perhaps the rest will do us good.

He added: “It will certainly be good to get back to playing some football, especially in the league because our last competitive game was against Bradford in the cup.”
