Steve Davis praises work achieved by Russell Slade at Leyton Orient

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he has not been surprised with Leyton Orient’s form this season and says they have a good chance of mounting a serious challenge for a play-off this season. Crewe travel to London this weekend to enhance our own play-off aspirations and the Alex boss says it will be another tough assignment against Russell Slade’s side.

Ahead our trip to Brisbane Road, Steve told us: “Leyton Orient are a really good side. They showed that when they drew at Gresty Road back in September. They are often tipped to be around the relegation places but they like to prove people wrong.

“They have really picked up this season and could make a surge towards the play-offs with a consistent run in the second half of the season. They may have surprised a lot of people with their consistent form, but they haven’t surprised me.

“They have good players, a strong squad and a good manger in Russell Slade. They don’t draw too many. They either win or lose and that makes them a tough opponent at their ground.”
