Alex skipper looking forward to Coventry clash

Captain Luke Murphy is relishing the Railwaymen’s Area Final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with Coventry City. The Railwaymen overcame a strong Bradford side by a 4-1 margin on Tuesday, and Murphy is now looking forward to the Area Final.

Of course the prize for the winner of the Area Final is a trip to Wembley, something which will bring back fond memories for Murphy, and everyone associated with the Football Club following Crewe’s success at the National Stadium last term.

But Murphy is well aware of the tough challenge that is ahead for the Railwaymen, and was also full of praise for Bradford.

Murphy told crewealex.net: “The game against Bradford wasn’t as easy as the scoreline suggests because Bradford came and had a real good go. But we picked things up in the second-half and eventually got the goals and pulled through with a good result.

“We would have definitely take being in the position at the start of the season and are looking forward to the Coventry games. They are extra games but they are exciting games and we are two games away from Wembley.”
