Bakes hoping to no-one will leave the group as we head towards deadline day
Neil Baker, the club’s assistant manager is hoping that the last few days of the transfer window remain very ‘sleepy’. The transfer window closes on Thursday at 11pm but Football League clubs can still apply for emergency loans after a week’s grace.
Baker says it is unlikely that the club will bring anyone else in on a permanent basis before the deadline and he remains hopeful that we will retain our players.
Bake told crewealex.net: “We are hoping that the build-up to the deadline remains a sleepy one. There are a couple of days to go and we are unlikely to bring anyone in. We are desperate to bring one in and we can loan again after a week, so we are in no rush.
“There are also no signs that we will lose one either. I am not papering over anything there because we have not had a phone call or an enquiry. Of course, things can be done late on deadline day, but I don’t envisage anything happening.
“We just hope that we have the same group of players with us on Friday morning that we had on Thursday morning.”
