Club to talk with Chuks and Arsenal after latest loan spell expires

Crewe Alexandra will hold talks with the on-loan Chuks Aneke and his parent club Arsenal before deciding whether to extend the creative youngster’s loan deal. Aneke has made quite an impression during his three months on loan with club, scoring six goals and providing a number of assists for others.

Aneke came off the bench in last Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Bradford City, creating a goal for Brad Inman and scoring a stoppage time goal himself as Crewe made it through to face Coventry City in the Northern Area Final.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Chuks loan agreement is up and we will speak with Chuks and Arsenal to see what their feelings are on it. Chuks has been here for three months, away from London and his family and friends, so we will see how he feels at staying on.

“He is a young and talented lad. He has got great ability and will only get better with experience. He can create and score goals and I think he has gained a lot from the experience. He has settled in well and is popular with the lads and around the club.

“He has his weaknesses as well. He knows he has to be better when we are not in possession. We have spoke about him being more of a team player and helping defensively. We have the same chats with Max and AJ about that. They take that on board.

“He played really well against Bradford. He came on and changed the game. He slipped in Brad to score and then linked up with Max to score one himself. He has scored six goals and is out second leading scorer, so we have been pleased with his impact.”
