Boss looking for youngsters to impress in Cheshire Cup tie.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says he will give a chance to some of his fringe players when the Alex host Northwich Victoria in the First Round of the Cheshire Cup tonight.

The likes of Michael West, Brendon Daniels and Ollie Turton are all set to feature for the Railwaymen this evening, while Ajay Leitch-Smith could also be in line for a run-out as he continues to step up his return from an ankle injury.

Elsewhere, England youth international Ben Garratt is set to start in goal, but promising youngster Ryan Colclough will miss out with an ankle injury.

Davis is looking forward to seeing how the side get on: “We will play a decent strength side. Most of the lads will be U21 players and hopefully they will want do well and impress. This is their chance to make a statement to me and Bakes.”
