Alex boss pleased deadline day passed with his squad still in place
Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he is pleased that yesterday’s deadline day passed without him losing any of his key assets.
The Alex manager did extend the loans of Chuks Aneke and Brad Inman until the end of the season and allow Paris Bateman to join our local neighbours Nantwich Town on a month’s loan. Andy White has returned to the club after a similar arrangement last month.
Steve was a relieved man to see the likes of Luke Murphy and Max Clayton at training this morning: “I was pleased that the deadline passed without major incident for us. The crucial thing from our perspective was not to lose anyone.
“We managed to do that and that is pleasing. I was able to watch deadline day and see the ridiculous things going on there. In the final hour it is madness and I’m just glad we weren’t involved in that really.
“We may have had one or two here who thought that something might happen but January is never the ideal time. They have to just carry on doing what they are doing and it will happen for them. They know they just have to produce quality performances on a consistent basis.
He added: “Some of them have cracked that, not enough of them and they are not all there yet. If they were then we would be in a better position in the league. They know that.”
