Osman: "More To Come"

14 February 2013

Abdul says Alex can still attack on two fronts...

Abdul Osman has developed into one of the club’s most consistent performers and the work ethic applied by the holding midfielder has allowed Luke Murphy and Brad Inman to break from the middle of the park to score 13 goals between them.

The former Northampton Town midfielder has become something of an unsung hero with the supporters, and they have being showing their own appreciation for him by introducing a specialist song in honour of him!

Abdul is now hoping that Crewe can bounce back from a first defeat in three games, after we controversially lost 2-1 to table toppers AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night. With a fixture free weekend, Crewe are now totally focussing on the second leg of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy against Coventry on Wednesday 20th February.

Abdul told crewealex.net: “We have some tough games between now and the end of the season but we want to have them because a lot of them will be against teams who are close to us in the league. We want to challenge ourselves against the best teams and we have shown that we can match teams like Bournemouth.

“It is still very tight and we have to find some real consistency now. I still think there is more to come from me and more to come from the team.

“I just try and do my job for the team. The manager wants me to do a job and I just try to do that to the best of my ability. I am due a goal but that isn’t really a part of my game. A goal or two would be a bonus if it helped the team pick up some points, so I would like to chip in with a few.”
