Boss impressed after watching Coventry win at Bury.
Steve Davis attended Coventry’s away game at Bury on Saturday and was impressed with the way the Sky Blues approached the match. With Lee Carsley in caretaker charge they impressively won 2-0 at Bury to keep their promotion hopes very much alive.
Despite having a 3-0 advantage from the first-leg encounter at the Ricoh Arena, Davis knows that the tie is far from over.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Although we didn’t have a game ourselves, it has been a busy weekend. It was a working weekend. I went to watch Coventry at Bury and Neil (Baker) went to watch Hartlepool.
“Coventry were very good. They started each half really well and are a team that can create chances. They can score goals, so we will have to defend well and keep our discipline throughout. They didn’t have much luck in front of goal against us in the first-leg.
“They have good forward and wingers who can unlock you with skill. Their midfield are industrious and they are reasonably solid at the back. We know they are a good side and no-one here is foolish enough to think that this tie is over.
He added: “We will have to defend better and deny them opportunities. They come with nothing to lose and they will have a go. We know what to expect from them and will have a game plan.”
