Defender Adam Dugdale targets three home points after no wins in three

Adam Dugdale says the Crewe Alexandra dressing room is keen to put last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Bournemouth behind them with a positive result against Scunthorpe United at Gresty Road. It is clear that the Railwaymen felt hard done by at the Goldsands Stadium after being on the receiving end of two dubious penalty awards.

Dugdale says that after going through the DVD of the match, the players were quickly focussing on the visit of the Iron.

The Alex centre-half told crewealex.net: “If we win, lose or draw a game, we quickly move on come Monday morning. We go through the DVD and take what we need from it but the rest of it is usually forgotten about it and we concentrate on the next one.

“I think Bournemouth will up there with the squad they have but I don’t think they were better than us on the day. I don’t think there are any teams we have played this season, who are any better than on us on our day.

“We go into every game confident, believing we can win it and it was the same last weekend at Bournemouth. We are home to Scunthorpe this weekend and it will be another tough game but one we are concentrating on winning.

“We are mid-table at the moment but we are looking upwards and not downwards and we want to get back to winning ways. “
