The Spark For Chuks?

13 December 2013

Steve hoping on-loan Aneke can become match winner on a regular basis

Steve Davis is hoping that his winning goal against Crawley Town in our last outing may provide the right sort of spark to get Chuks Aneke going. The on-loan Arsenal youngster will be hoping that his winning header will be enough to convince the manager that he is the ideal replacement for the suspended Vadaine Oliver this weekend.

Aneke came off the bench against Crawley to head home a Matt Tootle cross with eight minutes left, to end our run of nine games without a win.

Ahead of this weekend’s trip to Coventry, Steve told crewealex.net: “Chuks is not one you really need to motivate. He knows he can do better and hopefully that winning goal against Crawley can be a spark he needs.

“We know what he is capable of and we just want him to show it. We all trust him and the fact that he will come good.

“Chuks works very hard every day in training and you can never fault his work ethic to improve and do his best for the team. We just want him to get the rewards for the effort he puts in on a daily basis.”
