George Evans looks forward to geting back playing against Coventry this weekend

The club’s on-loan Manchester City midfielder George Evans is expecting another tough away assignment against Coventry City this weekend, but the teenager says that he feels as though the Alex are beginning to really gel as a unit and are looking forward to the challenge.

Crewe and their loyal away support will have to travel to the Sixfields Stadium in Northampton to face the Sky Blues and Evans admits that although it is a strange thing to contend with, footballers quickly adapt.

The 18-year-old loanee told Crewe Alex Player: “It will be a tough game against a good Coventry side because they would have been right up there challenging if they had not had the 10 points deducted. They have had to cope with playing their home games, away in Northampton but they have done really well this season.

“They are a good side but I believe that on our day we are a good side as well and there is no reason why we can’t go there, play well and cause a bit of an upset.

“I suppose it is a bit strange having to play Coventry at Northampton’s ground, but you just get on with it. A footballer just takes each game as it comes along regardless of the situation and that is what we will do.

The team is coming together and I’m sure the results will come. Christmas is always an important time and I’m hoping to help the team get out of the bottom four as soon as we can.” “We just want to go there and play as well as we can and build on what was a great result against Crawley with ten men.
