Ryan Needs A Run Now

5 December 2013

Is this end of Coco's stop/start campaign?

Steve Davis is hoping that the Christmas period will see the end of Ryan Colclough’s stop/start season. The Alex winger is now back fully training and is under consideration for the club’s away day against Coventry at Northampton’s Sixfields Stadium.

Colclough started the season in great form, scoring twice against Tranmere Rovers in late August but he has suffered from a hip injury and niggling hamstring and groin injuries over since his last appearance against Notts County in early October. Just when it appeared he was back to full fitness, an untimely chest infection ruled him out of our games against Carlisle and Crawley.

Manager Steve Davis said to crewealex.net: “It will be a real bonus to have Ryan back because he was our most consistent forward in the early part of the season.

“He was a real threat and playing with confidence but he has had a stop/stat campaign since then with injuries and illness. Just when it looks as though he had recovered from one thing he has been hit with another.

“This break will have done him good and he is now over his chest infection. He is fine and will be contention for the Coventry game. Hopefully, he will now stay fully fit and have a consistent run of games.”
