Inman Impressing Again

Midfielder hoping for more minutes on the pitch after earning his first-team recall

Steve Davis says that Bradden Inman deserved his minutes on the pitch against Coventry last weekend, as he has shown an improved attitude after holding a clear-the-air chat with the manager. Steve had questioned Inman’s attitude and desire to repeat the superb form he showed for us last season where his performances and goals made him popular with the Alex fans.

His performances on loan from Newcastle United prompted Crewe to pay a fee for his services in the summer but Davis has been left rather disappointed with his contribution thus far. Inman did score a wonderful goal away at Preston but he has been unable to build on that display.

Inman was back to his positive best when coming on against Coventry at the weekend and he was unlucky not to celebrate his recall to the first team squad with the winning goal. Only a timely tackle from Coventry’s full-back Christie prevented him from tapping home for 3-2 late on. He did score in a 'friendly' encounter against Nottingham Forest this week, with AJ Leitch-Smith and Billy Waters netting the others.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Brad came on with a real positive attitude on Saturday and it was much better from him. He deserved to get some game time because he has been working really hard in training and his attitude is much improved.

“He was a menace to the Coventry defenders. The first thing he did was to run at the full-back and that was more like Brad. He also cut in and had a shot blocked and so nearly won the game towards the end when the defender came from nowhere to stop him poking it into an empty net.

“We know what talent Brad has and if we can get him back to where he was last season then that would be a real asset for us. “
