Steve says festive period will only be one of hard work
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says that the forthcoming Christmas period will be one of hard work for him, his staff and his players.
The Crewe boss has not permitted his players to have a traditional Christmas party, but instead use the busy period of games to make sure we move out of the relegation zone. Davis is determined that his players collect points over a short space of time to give ourselves the best chance of escaping relegation. He is after a vast improvement in the second half of the season and says Christmas can play a crucial time in building some real momentum.
Steve revealed to the club’s official web-site: “The Christmas period will be a time of hard work. It is a very intense time with four games in a short space of time.
“It is a very important three weeks and we want to get as many points as we can to give ourselves the best chance. That is the message we have been reflecting to the players and they know that.
Steve added: “You sometimes need a bit of luck at this point of the season in terms of players not picking up knocks or getting injured or suspended. It is a tough time for them physically but it is also the perfect opportunity to close the gap.”
