Boss Credits His Players

11 December 2013

Steve Davis is hoping his players will get the reward for the hard work they have put in over their mini-pre-season.

Steve Davis is hopeful that the hard work his players have put in with see them benefit when our season gets going again at The Sixfields Stadium, Northampton, this weekend against Coventry. Davis is looking for his side to build on a hard fought 1-0 win over Crawley Town in our last outing.

Substitute’ Chuks Aneke scored a late goal to seal a valuable three points after Vadaine Oliver had been sent off for two dubious yellow cards within the first ten minutes of the second half.

Steve has been delighted with the players’ work ethic last week and they have carried that into this week with Steven Pressley’s Coventry waiting at the weekend.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “The lads have worked really hard. They were in every day last week and Andy really put them through it. It didn’t matter if they were stiff the next day because we weren’t preparing for a game at the weekend.

“It was a good time to do it and this week we have been mindful of the fact that we are playing Coventry at the weekend. We are preparing for that and hopefully the work they have put in will lay the foundation for the games to come in a short space of time.

“I am sure they have benefitted from their mini pre-season and I am sure they will be raring to go again at the weekend.”
