Steve says spirit within the club back on track
Steve Davis says he is pleased that his side signed off before their mini-break from matches with a hard fought 1-0 win over Crawley. Chuks Aneke scored the only goal of the game to give Crewe a priceless three points at Gresty Road and now the Alex boss is hopeful that the result will now act as a spur to turn our season around in the second half of the season.
Following the 1-0 over mid-table Crawley, Steve said: “Hopefully the three points will see us go on and upwards now. It was important that signed off with a win and I think you can feel that the spirit is back now.
"We had a lot go against us on Saturday and there has been a lot made about us not coming back from behind but we had ten men for most of the second half and managed to get that win.
“In those circumstances and with what we had to deal with, I think it was our greatest win of the season.
He added: “We are all together, pulling the same way and hopefully results will start to show that. We could have easily gone the other way on Saturday but we came out fighting so it was a massive plus. You can see the difference at the club.”
