Almost a full quota to choose from
Only last season’s leading marksman Mathias Pogba is out of tomorrow’s home match with Tranmere Rovers. Pogba is weeks off a return to training after having knee surgery, due to the injury he sustained against Manchester United in pre-season. Pogba hit 16 goals last season.
Steve Davis welcomes back Byron Moore from a thigh injury and Lee Molyneux from suspension which certainly provides him with more attacking options. With almost everyone fit, the Crewe boss admits that it will be difficult to select his starting XI and substitutes’ bench for this weekend.
The Crewe boss told the club’s official web-site: “Everyone is fit and okay now apart from Mathias, so that is good. Byron is back from his thigh injury and Lee has served his suspension so that gives us more option in wide areas.
“We have a strong squad and have players pushing for inclusion. It certainly makes the squad selection more difficult but that is what you want as a manager. We have a group of players who are all capable of playing in the team and that is the first time I’ve had that since I took over.
“It has been a good week and a hard week. The response from the defeat at the MK Dons has been really good. They have trained well and a lot of them have been doing extra work as well. That is nice to see and the players are determined to change the results we have been having.”
