Striker hoping to get a chance soon after overcomig groin injury

Vadaine Oliver is hoping that he will get more of a chance to impress after overcoming his slight groin strain. Oliver has been introduced as a second half substitute in both of Crewe’s opening couple of matches. The former Lincoln City striker stepped up his fitness with a run-out in last night’s 3-2 win over New Mills. Crewe had to comeback from 2-0 to record the victory at Church Lane.

Now the former Sheffield Wednesday youngster is aiming for more of a chance at first-team level.

Oliver told crewealex.net: “I’ve enjoyed it so far and settled in well. The boys have made me feel welcome and I have bedded in well.

“I’ve had a bit of a set-back with the injury but I’m back now and feel fit. I have had a mini-pre-season if you like and it has been a hard few weeks but I just want to get out on the pitch and show what I can do.

“I am focussed on trying to get into the team and fit into the system wherever the gaffer want me to play. “
