Aneke eyes an even better season back at Crewe

Chuks Aneke has made an instant impression on his return to Crewe, opening his goalscorign account with the opener at Bury in the Capital One Cup and creating the penalty incident with a superb through ball to Ryan Colclough. Of course, everyone was disappointed to exit the League Cup at the first round stage, but one of positive was Aneke’s creative ability in the final third of the pitch.

The on-loan Arsenal starlet is still looking his full match fitness after only being used sparingly by his parent club, but the former England youth international is just happy to be back playing competitive football again.

“It was a great learning curve for me last season with the games I played and the success we had with winning the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, ‘ says Chuks.

“It really was my first time in real football and so different from reserve football. It was all a very good experience and I am just happy to be back and playing real football again.

“I want to beat what I did last year and help the team have another successful season. I am thankful to the fans at Crewe. They always support me and make me feel welcome. It is a great environment to play your football in and I just want to repay the faith they have shown in me by being even better.

“I just want to get out on the pitch and show the fans that there is more to come from me.”
