Coco's The Main Threat

Winger catching the eye in the final third

Despite Saturday’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to MK Dons, youngster Ryan Colclough certainly caught the eye with his performance. The 18-year-old winger was constant menace to the MK Dons and must have thought he had salvaged a point when he latched on perfectly to a clever pass from Vadaine Oliver in the dying minutes, only to be denied his first goal of the season by a fine tip over from David Martin.

Manager Steve Davis praised the winger’s display and stressed that he has been our main threat throughout the summer and into the new season.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I thought Ryan was good. He was our main threat again. To be fair he has been our main threat throughout pre-season. He always looks capable of doing something.

“I still think his best position could be off the front but we have a few players whose best position is there. Ryan can go through the middle but to get in the team he is having to play on the wing at the moment.

He added: “I have a decision to make with him going forward but he is still young, and still learning. He has got to be better in defensive areas but he is still learning the game and we have to excuse that sometimes because of his inexperience.”
