Lowe And Foz set for Gresty return with Tranmere
Steve Davis admits that Ryan Lowe is a player that was under serious consideration last season when Crewe Alexandra were looking for more goals. Lowe was in-and-out of the MK Dons side at the time and wanted a return to the North West to be closer to his young family.
Lowe, 34, saw out the remainder of the season at MK Dons, scoring 12 goals in his 51 appearances but was allowed to leave Stadium: mk in the summer by mutual consent and joined Tranmere on a free transfer. The goal poacher opened his account for this season with a late equaliser in last weekend’s 3-3 home draw with Crawley Town.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Ryan is a good player and a player we have discussed in the past. He has been a goal scorer at this level over many years and he is a clever player with his movement in and around the box.
“Foz (Stephen Foster) is also now at Tranmere and he was here for a lot of years. He has been a consistent defender and served Burnley and Barnsley well after leaving here. He is an accomplished defender and a really good lad. They are both good lads.
“Tranmere have made an indifferent start to the season and like us have had a draw and a defeat, but they are a good side and it will be a good game.”
