Steve: "Plenty To Think About"

Steve says tough decisions to be made as he gets set to name his squad for Wembley

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he plans to take as many players as he can to London this weekend before deciding on his starting XI for the final against Southend United. Davis says there is still time over the last few days of training to earn a place in his plans for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final.

Davis is looking to guide Crewe Alexandra to their first ever triumph in the Football League Trophy and says he will be picking a team to win at Wembley.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We will assess things over the next few days and will take as many players as I can to London depending on the numbers we have and how injury free we are.

“I will then think about picking the squad good enough to win the game. That is the only thing we will be thinking about and I will have a chat with Neil (Baker) and other members of the staff, such as Critch (Neil Critchley) who was helping us out on Monday to come up with a winning formula.

“They will all have their opinions and we will go away and think about things and pick the best team we can to play and defeat Southend, because that is ultimately what we want to achieve.”
