A fantastic gesture by the Alex fans

Of course tomorrow's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final was put in to perspective with yesterday's news of the recent death of Adam Dugdale's new-born baby son.

All of our thoughts at the club are with Adam, his partner Nicola and all the family. The club has received numerous messages of support for Adam and his family over the past 24 hours.

Several of these messages suggested a minutes applause during the sixth minute of the Sunday's Final as sign of support for the Alex number six.

Crewe Alexandra Football Club thinks this is a fantastic gesture by the supporters and all of the staff at the club will certainly be participating in this show of support.

So therefore we ask any fan at the game on Sunday, Crewe or Southend, to join in with a minutes applause during the sixth minute of the game tomorrow.
