Davis and Baker will be busy looking for new recruits in the remaining weeks of the season
Steve Davis has revealed that he and his assistant manager Neil Baker will be increasing their scouting missions between now and the end of the season, as they step up their search for new recruits. Davis will be looking to add quality to his squad this summer but admits age won’t matter as long as they improve his team for next season.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We will use the remaining two weeks of the season to really get out and have a look at some players. Neil will be out watching games and I will be out looking at players.
“We will look to bring players in who will improve us and increase competition. We need some strength in depth and makes us stronger. We could improve in two or three areas.
“We have to assess the younger ones in our squad and these remaining games will allow us to do that. We have to make decisions on a few of them and think about the scholars we want to take on.
He added: “There are some good young players coming through and it is about getting that balance right and not blocking their path through. That will be important when we think about the players we want to bring in.”
