Davis wants his players to replicate Yeovil display against Blades

Steve Davis wants his players to take Saturday’s promising performance at Yeovil into tomorrow night’s clash with play-off placed Sheffield United. Despite a 1-0 defeat the manager was pleased with the overall performance at Huish Park and wants his team to finish the season playing attacking football.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I thought we played well at Yeovil and I was pleased with the performance. I couldn’t really ask for any more effort from them.

“We lost concentration in the opening minute and that was vital. Scoring the first goal is vital in this division and that was disappointing but after that I thought we defended reasonably well.

“We didn’t convert our chances and we met a goalkeeper in top form. We create some good opportunities that we either wasted or the keeper has made a good save.

“On another day we would have got something out of it and I want the team to replicate that type of performance against Sheffield United. It was a really good game at their place, when we drew 3-3 and I would take the same type of entertaining game again with us just edging it.”
