Captain hoping to be fit for final two games of the season
Luke Murphy is hoping to be fit for the final two matches of the season. The club captain will not be travelling to Yeovil this weekend after struggling with a tight groin muscle over the last few weeks.
Murphy coped with the injury to lead the team out at Wembley Stadium for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final and marked the occasion with a wonderful opening goal after just six minutes in our 2-0 win over Southend.
Murphy started the following game against Brentford but had to be withdrawn in the second half after complaining of some muscle tightness.
Steve Davis, the Crewe manager told crewealex.net: “Murph has not declared himself fit as yet but if we wants to be involved in the final two games then we will have to train at the beginning of next week to prove himself.
“He has a chance of making those games if he can train and come through okay. He hasn’t hung up his boots for the season just yet.”
