Steve Davis happy with Ellington's impact against Doncaster

Following his cameo performance as a late substitute against Doncaster Rovers at the weekend, the experienced Nathan Ellington could well be involved against Swindon Town tonight.

Ellington came off the bench to create a good opportunity for Oliver Turton to score what would have been a deserved equaliser, but the young midfielder screwed it just wide after it came out of the sky.

Ellington, who is contracted with us until the end of the season, is looking for a chance to start and show what he can do again. He also played a part in the development squad's 6-0 win over Barnsley, although he wasn't on the scoresheet this time.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Nathan came on at the weekend and made a very big impact for us. He got into the game quickly and created that late chance for Ollie. Nathan has qualities and with it he brings great experience.

“He has certainly given us food for thought and we could well figure at Swindon.

He added: “Ollie will get some starts. He has improved from last season and is heading in the right direction.”
