A warm welcome back to Adam Dugdale
Crewe Alexandra defender Adam Dugdale has returned to training today. Dugdale has been away from the club on compassionate leave following the sad loss of his new born baby Jude Dugdale.
The Alex supporters marked the sad passing of brave Jude by applauding for one minute in the sixth minute of our Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final against Southend, with the away fans joining in at Wembley Stadium.
Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager says it is great to have his influential defender back with us: “It is good to have Adam back because we have missed him. He is a bubbly personality and an influential figure around the place.
“Everyone at the club has missed his presence and everyone will rally around him in what has been a difficult time in his life. That shows the togetherness of the squad and it is very important to have that bond and friendship.
“A few of these lads have come through the Academy with him and known him for many years. Everyone can be vulnerable to something and it is very unfortunate what has happened to Adam and his girlfriend (Nicola). It is a very sad loss.
He added: “I’m sure being back here with his team-mates and getting back into training will help him.”
