As Long As Possible With Injured Duo

Steve Davis says he will give Murphy and Pogs As Long As Possible

"Pogs has tweaked his muscle, so all we can do is wait and see if it settles down. It is a tweak and we will have to give him as long as we can. We will leave it as late as possible and undergo a fitness test later. They have both played a lot of games this season, so it is not a question of them lacking fitness. It is just a case of them coming through some of the last few training sessions."

Davis told the club's official web-site: "We will give Murph and Pogs every chance to make it. We remain hopeful on both of them. Murphy has missed the last three games after aggravating his groin. He is making progress though and was able to train today. He came through that so that will give him some confidence.

Steve Davis says he will give his injured duo Luke Murphy and Mathias Pogba every possible chance to prove their fitness ahead of Sunday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final against Southend United. Murphy remains a doubt with a groin strain and has been joined on the sidelines by striker Mathias Pogba after he tweaked his thigh in the 1-0 win over Preston North End on Bank Holiday. Both face a real race against time to declare themselves fit to face Southend United.
