Aneke: "It's Been Brilliant"

Chuks on a great end to the season for the Railwaymen

Chuks Aneke signed off from his impressive loan spell with another wonderful strike to seal a 2-0 win over Walsall on Saturday. Although Steve Davis named a starting XI made up entirely of Academy graduates, it was second half substitute, Aneke, who caught the eye with a stunning goal to defeat Dean Smith’s side.

Aneke, 19, certainly enjoyed his loan spell here at Crewe and he was pleased to see the Railwaymen start the game with 11 home grown players.

The likeable Chuks said: ”It was good to end the season on a high. I think it was brilliant I've got a lot of love for the Crewe Academy and the way they bring players through to the first team.

“It is brilliant that players who have been here since they were seven are now in the first team it should happen more, there is a lot of quality here.

“Coming here has done me the world of good. I was an Under-21 at Arsenal and I'm so pleased with how the season has gone. It has been ups and downs and to cap it off with a couple of goals I am grateful.

“The fans have been good to me. I wish I did get the tap-ins but I am pleased with the goals I have scored, I should have had more if I am honest.

“I just want to enjoy my football wherever that is next year, that's what I am looking for now.”
