Boss targets better display at Huish Park

Steve Davis wants his Crewe Alexandra side to bounce back from Tuesday night’s disappointing 4-1 defeat to Swindon Town with a really positive display at Yeovil. The Alex boss has been experimenting with his squad of late, giving some of his fringe contingent a chance to impress.

Steve has told the club’s official web-site that he want his team to go out and attack Gary Johnson’s side and score some goals in the club’s last away game of the season.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We have had a few disappointing results of late, but I have been experimenting a bit with the players and giving some of them an opportunity.

“Because we have been safe for a while, it has given us a chance to do that. If we needed the points then the approach would have been very different. The selection would have been very different, but I needed to see if they were ready for this league.

“I will try one or two things but I want us to go to Yeovil and really play. I want us to attack and score some goals but also protect the back four better than we have been doing for the last few games.”
