Crewe's new loan signing Chuks Aneke cannot wait to play first-team football again

Arsenal midfielder Chuks Aneke is set to embark on his third loan spell with a Football League club and the attack-minded teenager can’t wait to get more competitive action under his belt after signing a one-month youth loan deal with Crewe, which will commence from Saturday when the loan window for League clubs officially re-opens.

Aneke has previous spent time on loan under manager Graham Westley at Stevenage and Preston North End last season, making 13 appearances and scoring once against Bury. With first-team opportunities limited at his parent club, the likeable Londonder is relishing the chance to play competitive matches once again.

After signing his emergency loan agreement, the England youth International told us: “I’m really delighted to come to Crewe because I have heard some really good things about the club. Now I just can't wait to get started. As soon as I heard there was interest from Crewe, I wanted to come.

“Everybody knows about Crewe. They like to play their young players and the football that they like to play. They like to bring through talented players, and are I obviously a young player who wants to play games too.

At the moment I think it is vital that I go out and play some games. I am desperate to show what I can do, and hopefully I can do that here at Crewe. I am raring to go.” Chuks added: “I feel like I am ready to test myself.

Aneke will wear the number 26 shirt for the club, will train today with his team-mates and could well feature against Tranmere Rovers tomorrow.

There will be more to come from Crewe’s latest loan signing throughout the day on Crewe Alex Player, so why not subscribe today. Don’t miss out.
