Clayton cannot inspire England win as they lose 3-1 in Hamburg

Noel Blake’s England Under-19 side lost 3-1 to their German counterparts in Hamburg this evening. Crewe Alexandra striker Max Clayton played 61 minutes, but couldn’t inspire an England win in this International friendly match. He was replaced by Chuba Akpom.

The former Crewe player Nick Powell scored for England in the first half.

Clayton will fly back to Britain this evening so he can participate in training tomorrow ahead of our league match with Tranmere Rovers. If he is deemed fit enough he could feature against the current league leaders at Gresty Road.
